Fishing at Shabbona

Horrible !!! One of my worst days on Shabbona in a few years.

Beautiful day to be out, but the fish were very uncooperative.

On the water around 9:30 AM, water temp 63, visibility about 12-18 inches. Fished until 5 PM. Only bass fishing today. Hit the usual spots, threw EVERYTHING at them. A pair of 14 inchers on the chatterbait in the weeds, about a dozen 8-12 inchers on a variety of things (shallow and deep crankbaits, soft plastic grubs). Never saw a muskie. Hooked a nice channel cat up in the dense weeds on a plastic grub, but couldn't get to him in time (trolling motor batteries died, ordered new ones last week, and of course they were sitting by the door when I got back from the lake).

No excuses, just couldn't find or fool the bass today.
