October 26, 2007 Fishing at Delavan Lake, Delavan Wisconsin
35 Inch Northern Pike
I made a quick run up to Delavan today. First fishing day in a LONG TIME..... It's been a month since I was here, Sept 28, 2007 . Launched at 10:30AM and back off the lake by 2 PM. Water Clarity 2-4 feet on most of the lake. I went straight to the weedbeds with the blue-black chatterbaits (actually, the Strike King version "Pure Poison Swim-Jigs"), using a steady retrieve in 5-7 feet of water. ZERO. Made a quick switch to the Yum Wooley Curlytail grubs thrown in 2 to 4 feet of water around the surfacing weed clumps. BINGO. Best fish 35 inches, next 32 inches, and 4 or 5 more in the 20-28 inch range. I'll try to get out again before they close the launch (November 1st). Good Luck Everybody !!!!
