Bass Zone 9
Shallow water area in Eastern most region of NorthEast Bay.
This is a very early Spring location for bass. This is a large extremely shallow mud bottomed bay. It warms very quickly in the spring attracting fish sooner than most areas. I fish this area with weedless soft plastics and spinnerbaits. It's so shallow that even shallow crankbaits will get fouled with muck on almost every cast. If you see tons of carp rolling around in the shallows, you're in the right area (bass like to hang out with carp). Small and mid-sized muskies will also pile into this area very early in the year. If you cast a golden spinnerbait around, you'll see what I mean (be warned: they'll destroy your spinnerbait). This area will fill with weeds and become unfishable quicker than any area of the lake. By mid-summer you can't get a boat within 100 yards of the back of this bay, it becomes a solid mat of lilypads and moss.
