May 30, 2007 Fishing at Delavan Lake, WI After three emails from fellow anglers, I had to get out there. ( Thanks guys !!!) Where did the time go ?? My first and only prior trip to this lake was July 22, 2004 At that time, I swore that I'd be back soon..... Well it only took 2 years and 10 months !!!! But I have to say, running from the launch to the south end in the Ranger is about 50 minutes quicker than in the Tracker !!!!
Fished the weeds in 2-6 feet of water. Man this lake is CLEAR. I'm used to Shabbona's 12-18 inch visibility, 6 feet of visibility is a different ball game. I fished for a few hours, when it got hot, I packed it in. Weedless grubs and chatterbaits were on the menu today. Best bass 17.5 inches, several plump 15-16 inchers, 5 or 6 tiny pike, and one Big Momma Pike that hit at the boat-side and immediately snapped my 30 lb PowerPro (if she'd hit 15 feet away, she'd have been caught !!!). Good Luck Everybody !!!!
