Bass Fishing at Spring Lake South, near Peoria IL

and Muskie Fishing on Spring Lake North

March 29

Lisa and I launched the boat at 10 AM and fished for 7 hours.

The Bass were happy to see us.

(same fish)

Things got going Quick with this 21 inch, 5 # 4 oz Crusher,

then his Twin came out for a picture with him,

21 inch twins, 5 # 4 oz, 5# 3 oz

And that wasn't THE BIG BOY !!!!!

This was

20.75 inches, with a Huge Gut, 5 # 8 oz

Along the way we had 3 other bass over 18 inches, including this super STOUT 19.5 incher

19.5 inches

  18.5 inches   Lisa's 18 incher

and 8 other "keepers" (15 inch limit)

17 " 16.25" 16" 16.5"15"

for a few 15 inchers I didn't bother taking a picture, but look at the cool colors on this 16 incher

16 "

Water temp was 43 degrees, and clarity about 1 1/2 to 2 feet. All of the bass where caught on the Yum Wooley Curlytail grubs, jigged over deep holes (this is a very shallow lake), just like we did on Feb 2, 2006 , even the exact same spot.

March 30

Muskie Fishing on Spring Lake North

Lisa and I launched the boat at 9 AM and fished for about 3 1/2 hours.

We had a pair of 29 inchers in the boat, and lost 3 more similar sized muskies in the weeds. Then the clouds blew in and we called it a day. That pattern I mentioned on January 20, 2006 and Feb 1, 2006 is still working, and had all the action...(I'd love to tell you what the "pattern" is, but until Ace and Hawg Czar get a chance to drag one in the boat, hopefully on April 8th and 9th, I have to keep it to myself.)

The water was 45 degrees, visibility about 18-24 inches.

Over the next week or two, I'll be teaming up with Ace and Hawg Czar for some

hard core fishing

stay tuned !!!
