Bass Fishing at Spring Lake South, near Peoria IL

and we thought Yesterday was NUTS with 7 Muskies!!!!

5 Pounds 4 ounces, at 20.25 inches, Blimp !!!!

4 Pounds 0 ounces, at 19 inches, Lardy Boy !!!!

Today, Mom and I decided to take our first ever look at Spring Lake South. (North has muskie, South has northern pike)

We didn't find the pike, but WOW, the bass sure found us. Water temp was 39 degrees, and clarity about 1 1/2 to 2 feet. We boated 10 "keeper" bass (15 inch limit ). All of the bass where caught on the Yum Wooley Curlytail grubs, jigged over deep holes (this is a very shallow lake).

I have no idea what the pike are like, but with bass like these, Who Cares ??!!!

If you can get a break in the weather, you've got to get out to this lake !!!
