Fishing at Busse Woods

Dr. Mike Fisher and I were out at the weedbeds this morning. The fish are hiding in and around the thickest weeds you can find. The only way to get to them is with waders or a boat. If you hook one in this stuff, you literally have to go to the fish and pick him up out of the slop.

Today, the biggest bass was 18 inches, and the runner-up was 15.5 inches. They hit on a bass assassin shad, and a zipper spider (both weedless soft plastics without a weight) twitched across the surface.
