Shallow open water pockets in the Northern weedbed of the NE Bay.

 When the catfish are nearing the spawn, they will get up in the very shallow water of this area (1 to 3 feet deep). Move in to the area very quietly, bait up with some fresh chicken livers and make short casts into open pockets of the weedbed.  LEAVE THE BAIL OPEN on your reel, and relax. About the time you start daydreaming, your rod will start screaming and you'll be in for a battle.
