Bass Fishing at Sangchris Lake, near Springfield IL

My first trip to Sangchris in over a year !!!

Good News, the lake has fully recovered from the drought of 2007. The lake is at FULL POOL.

Wes "Ace" Wooddell and I put in a full day of fishing. We fished around the flooded weeds and caught an incredible number of bass. Dozens of 14-15 inchers, and many many more 10-14 inchers. The Best fish of the day was the 18.5 incher pictured above, at 3.5 pounds on the dot. We fished numerous kinds of crankbaits and soft plastics, and everything we threw caught some bass.

Water temp was 65 degrees, visibility was a nice 18 inches with a green tint, perfect bass water !!!
