March 20, 2007 Bass Fishing at Spring Lake South State Park, near Peoria IL
This wasn't the biggest fish of the day, but he was my favorite. Built like a concrete block at 18.5 inches. Anyway, Mom and I hit the water about 1:15 PM and fished until 6:30 PM. The afternoon started out sunny, but within 2 hours, the sun disappeared and that 20 MPH East wind started feeling a little less friendly. Air temp was 52, water temp was 49, clarity about a foot. Pattern was exactly the same, all of the fish where caught on the Yum Wooley Curlytail grubs, swimming them VERY slowly over deep holes (this is a very shallow lake) just like Jan 3,4 2007 , Jan 6,7 2007 , Jan 11, 2007 and March 13,2007. Best fish were these two 4 pounders Also had this cool looking 17 incher with Black Lips and a few other "keepers"
Here's a VIDEO CLIP of releasing some fish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L93pwzSLhms
I've been getting a lot of questions about Lake Sangchris lately. I haven't fished it in 2007, so I'd better get over there one of these days to check it out. Good Luck Everybody !!!!
